The first time I saw them was at "Newcastle City Hall" in 1974. I'll never forget the way in which the band put numbers like "Move Over" across with such power and energy I was totally knocked out!
My favourite Slade single is "Skweeze Me Pleeze Me" - It's got plenty of "Balls" and a great melody! I don't have a particular favourite album - there is such a wide variety of music on all the albums.
It's not easy to pick your favourite band member, because they're a four unit band, they worked so hard together, and were a very tight band...but if I had to choose a member, it would have to be "Noddy" I suppose, You see when Imet him in July 1988 at the "Trumpet" in "Bilston" he was talking to a few of his mates at lunchtime but he still made me feel very welcome. We had a good chat, which really made my holiday very special.
I've been to a few Slade conventions over the years, met some great people over the years...yourself included Mr.Jewell, Craig Storey, Stu Rutter and many many more. If my mind serves me right, I remember being at this Slade convention in the 90's, we were all dancing, I was doing my Jim Lea bit, dancing all over the place, then all of a sudden, I landed in the car park...Someone opened the exit window, (won't mention any names)and I went flying!...Oh those were the days!
Cheers
Kenny
